A witness is an individual who knows the disputed parties or about the facts and circumstances of the case. They are called upon by the court to testify on oath any relevant facts and details about the case/parties for evidence purposes. An expert witness, on the other hand, is a professional with knowledge and experience in a particular industry. They are called upon by the court to educate the jury and court on technical matters that require an expert’s perusal.
